This has been by far one of the craziest winters. And thankfully it is soon to be but a memory. As autumn rolled its way into winter the phone just kept ringing and business is doing well. One really memorable experience I had this season was just a few weeks ago. As many of you may know, in addition to window cleaning I also offer pressure washing services. However, I generally don’t do much pressure washing in the winter months. I received a call from a referral. He informed me that his house was going on the market in a week or so and he needed some pressure washing done. I drove by his property and gave him a bid. Done! When can you start the work?

So I scheduled it for Thursday and Friday of the same week. Wednesday night rolls around and there is 3 inches of snow on the ground… I got about 3 hours of work done Thursday. Then Friday comes and it is 19 degrees outside! Not the best day for pressure washing. I was able to get a couple of hours of work accomplished in the afternoon… Finally on Saturday and Sunday the weather warmed up and I was able to get the job completed. 24 hours of pressure washing and 4 hours washing windows and the project was complete… Maybe next time I should look at a weather forecast before I schedule a job like this one!

Now Spring is slowly approaching and the sun will be shining bright. I hope you all had a great 2010 and if you are like me, you are looking forward to an even better 2011.
