It has been a bit since I have sent out a post. Here is an update… the sun is shining, the weather has been quite nice, and we have been going crazy washing windows, cleaning blinds and repairing screens. Not to mention all the gutters we have cleaned this summer.
I just want to thank everyone who has called up and utilized our great services for their home. I have the BEST customers in the entire state of Oregon.
And a shout out to Grayson… he has been working so hard this summer and was actually given a $20 tip the other day. Way to go Gray! Not bad for only being 12 years old… it helped him to have a $90 day washing windows and installing blinds with the old DAD! Thanks for your help Grayson, you have been a huge motivator this summer.
Well, that’s enough for now. If you need your windows or blinds cleaned give me a call today. We are about 7-10 days out but can try to squeeze in smaller jobs if we can. And I can usually get over to clean the blinds in just a couple of days.
Cheers!

Spring is just around the bend and it might be time to get those screens repaired now before the nice warm sun comes a shining. It is always nice on the first spring day to open up all the windows and air out the winter cobwebs… but if your window screens are torn or broken then we not only let the old winter air out, but allow a few new flying friends to come in.
If you have broken or torn screens then give me a call. I can come out and get them fixed in no time and have you ready to invite the fresh breeze of spring to flow through your home bug free!

Well, another gutter job today and fortunately we avoided getting all wet. (Well, except when Grayson hosed me)
In addition to cleaning the gutters we were able to install new gutter guards to help keep the debris out of the gutters next year when the leaves come a fallin’.

Here is Grayson hosing out the gutters from the ladder. He may not have a lot of years of practice, but he is probably the hardest working 11 year old I know!

If you need your gutters cleaned, screens repaired, or windows washed this upcoming spring feel free to give me a call at 503-406-8667 or visit my website: www.seeclearlywindows.com

With the holiday’s behind us and the new year ahead I thought I would take a moment to get personal…
I have been cleaning window’s in the Portland metro area since 1982. I started washing windows in high school for my uncle’s business and decided to go on my own in the late 80’s. Since that time I have developed many skills and resources that have helped me improve my business and allowed me to offer more services to my faithful customer’s.
I truly enjoy what I do. I have 5 kids and a couple of them have worked with me on several homes and offices throughout the last couple of years. This is truly a family business.
On my off time I enjoy many different activities. Some of which include mountain biking, running, and just being outside. We also volunteer our time to a local homeless shelter once a month and are involved in various other activities in our community. I think one of my favorite’s is being the Umpire In Chief for our local little league. Being a “rules” kind of guy, this is a great opportunity for me to use some of my God given gifts for the benefit of other’s.
Well, enough for now… The clouds have parted and the sun appears to be coming out, I think I will go for a run.
Remember, if there is any service you need accomplished around your home feel free to give me a call. Besides the services I offer, I am a great resource for other contractor’s and service businesses in the Portland metro area. Being a native Oregonian, I have encountered many people who do great work and are quite trustworthy.

Washing windows in the rain is a very common occurrence in the Pacific NW. People frequently ask me if I can complete their job even if it is raining. I tell all of them the same thing… “If window washer’s don’t wash windows in the rain, they don’t work around this town.”
Here is a shot of me today in the pouring rain…

One of the reason’s that washing windows in the rain won’t affect the quality is because rain is clean and will dry on the nice clean glass without any spots.
Well, back to work!

Here is the question… “Can See Clearly Window Cleaning wash my windows when it is so cold outside or should I wait until spring?”
Well, let’s see…. um, YES! I can wash your windows in all types of weather and the winter tends to be the best time of year for you as the customer because I am offering a 10% discount to all new and existing customers from now until the end of the year.
Here’s a good story. Last year when we had all of the ice and snow I was at a new customer’s home just before Christmas time. It was so cold outside that the water would freeze the second it hit the window. It was like trying to squeegee ice off of the glass. Not easy to clean a window with ice that’s for sure… So, being the problem solver that I am I was able to wash their windows in spite of the freezing cold temperature and they were able to have bright shiny windows when all of their holiday guests arrived.
What’s the secret? Well, I will keep the secrets to myself, let’s just say that there is no time of year that will keep me from helping you have the cleanest windows in town.
Give me a call today to schedule a time for me to come out and give you a free estimate.
See Ya Soon!

I have seen many window cleaning companies promote gutter cleaning and they all seem to have different information regarding the importance of cleaning your gutters.
First of all, yes, it is very important to have clean gutters and downspouts. However, the frequency of cleaning them is not determined by the calendar as much as it is determined by the need. I live in an area that has very few trees that drop leaves, so in five years I have cleaned my gutters once.

I am glad you asked…
At See Clearly Window Cleaning I will never perform a service that isn’t required just to make a buck. I will inspect your gutters, give you a firm estimate as to the amount it will cost to have your gutters and downspouts cleaned, and depending on your surroundings let you know how frequently the work should be done.
Don’t buy into the guys that tell you that you
need your gutters cleaned every six months.
Let’s analyze that for just a moment. Say you live in a typical area with a few trees around your home. Leaves fall once a year around, say, the fall time… Once the leaves have fallen is the best time to clean the gutters and downspouts. Now spring has come and the rains come pouring down every day, since your gutters are clean you should have absolutely no problem until possibly next fall. When we get the spring rains I suggest you look around your home and see if any water is falling over the outside of the gutter or the downspouts are clogged. If not, you are doing just fine.
I recommend cleaning gutters in most heavily treed areas once a year. This eliminates excessive weight in the gutters and allows them to flow freely. In areas that have very little trees you may not need to clean the gutters for several years.
If you need my services please feel free to give me a call. I will remove the moss off your roof, clean all gutters and downspouts, and repair anything that might be broke.
My website is the best place to get all the information: www.seeclearlywindows.com

Here is a great shot from this summer when we were able to clean the windows of the third floor of My Father’s House homeless shelter. It was quite the job but fulfilling as well.
Pictured here are Grayson and Austin, two of my five kids.

Here I am reaching out to clean the outside of the windows. Using this technique is much faster than moving ladders all over the building, but one slip and it makes for a long fall…
